Me and Mine.

You didn't really expect to see a mug shot of me, did you? Well, look in the lower left corner of the page. That's about it. Well, okay, how 'bout another view?

Since you navigated to this page, and it is supposed to be about me, I guess I'm obligated to say a little about myself. Born more than 50 years ago, settled in Northern CA in '57, now own a floor covering business in Quincy, CA during the day (note: not anymore. I retired because of lung disease in 2005) and work on computers and websites at night. I love my home and my dogs, Ebony (my Ebony died early 2005 - RIP) and Loomis, have fun customizing computers, collecting and writing. My life is exciting, boring, fun and scary – normal for just about anyone. (note: my wonderful family evicted me from my home of 17 years when I could no longer pay the mortgage because of the advancement of my lung disease. A good friend, Will McClard, and his wife have made a place for me by turning their duplex into a triplex.)

Mt pet peeves are rude and obnoxious people, especially when they do so behind the anonymity of a keyboard. You might think with a name like "Grump" that I might be rude and obnoxious too. You'd be right to a degree – I am to those I described above and I've become known for it.

But this site isn't just about me...

It's about my friends.

And that might just include you. You see, I have been a proponent of Internet technology as education, a resource tool and entertainment for many years. I enjoy being able to turn people onto great sites. I hope some day this will be a great site.

NOTE: This site hasn't, but my pet project, The Floor Pro Community, has turned into a very nice place to spend time if you are a floor covering professional or are a consumer/DIYer looking for information and resources about flooring.)

I spend a good portion of my free time working on computers and websites – my own and many of my friends'. I enjoy it. I especially like the compensation. You know, the dollars and the pies. I'm not proud, I'll take a cake or a pie in trade, but no goats.

I'm looking toward the future, when I'll no longer be able to do the physical work I do now (note: that ended in 2005 - you should quit smoking now, if you do because, take my word for it, it's a killer), and that time is rapidly approaching. I'd like to be able to supplement my Social Security with some computer generated income. I especially like building systems and customizing them, which you'll see some of over on the COMPUTER pages.

Of course, I can't help all of my friends up close and personal with their computer problems and love lives, so I hope that what I have to offer here will help. I'm not about to traipse all over the country, because frankly, I love spending my time at home.
